December 'But Also' Newsletter

Published over 1 year ago • 2 min read

Hey hi hello!

Happy New Year and I don't know about you, but I'm slightly happier to see this year go than I have been in years past. It has been a whirlwind of a year from working with Minnesota Opera for the first time to releasing an album of songs by Black composers; from building out many different offers including donation based and pay what you can to watching and helping my students grow; from re-joining Exultate to performing for the first time with Opera Reading Project.

It has been a trying year on many levels, but thru it all I found community, consistency, and an even stronger connection to my mission. This morning Facebook memories showed me my good bye 2021 post and I can confidently say - still the same ole same ole.

Anywaysssss onward.

Missed something in December? Cuz same..

Here's a recap:

Winterludes was a smashing success - you can find the vids on Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok or this Youtube playlist.

I was so busy I actually forgot to promote a video that I posted in November and recorded back in October.

Exultate premiered 3 new pieces, catch one here:

Here's some little clips from Cendrillon with Opera Reading Project:

And here's the Winter Recital from Tara Priolo Studio:

Whew okay...PS I'm thinking of restarting youtube in 2023....what do ya'll want to see? Just respond to this email

GOAL GETTER:

  • With the $75 option you will get access to quarterly Zoom accountability meeting to troubleshoot and work through goals through the end of 2023.

PWYC Content Cohort

I've noticed with my past clients & many people around me on the internet a need for someone to continuously encourage you to post (#pushthedamnbutton), to audit your content, & to fight the aloneness feeling when you don't get the amount of engagement you were expecting. This is for the person who already knows how to use social media, but just feels out of topics, inspiration, or courage to get the ish out the door. My expectation is that you'll produce at least one post per week from being in the group. There will be other bennies as well, but know that this cohort will be mostly about accountability as opposed to a group coaching program.

Community Web News

Clara Byom has been keeping plenty busy and is booking for shows in 2023. Check out her most recent NMCE project ALUCINARI, her newest album, Frozen Tung of The Bell with Patrick Debonis, and all her upcoming gigs next month.

Violinist Aja Majkrzak: A Snapshot in Time: I'm making my way through the 30 Mazas etudes for violin. Every Monday I'm releasing a video of me sight reading the etude to Patreon. Then I'll use that video to diagnose what to work on through the week and release a video on YouTube by the following Sunday. The idea is to share my process and what kind of progress can actually be made in one week. Like any live performance, these videos are just a snapshot in time.

If you'd like to be added to this section of the newsletter, please respond to this email with your promotion & I'll fit you in!

That's enough for now! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL end of the year and that 2023 treats you the absolute best it can.

Much love,
